Being Five is a comic strip about a kid named Georgie, who blogs using voice recognition software (since he can’t read or write very well yet). His parents installed the software so he could share his daily life with his long distance grandparents. Little do they know that Georgie’s blog has become popular with readers around the world.
I began the strip in 2006 when my own son was five. His perspective on life made me smile every day (and still does), so I wanted to preserve that humor in a comic strip.
Being Five has taken on a life of it’s own over the past 10 years. It has been translated into several languages
by fans, chosen by Google as Blogger Blog of Note, was Humor Site of the Day at About.com, and has been
